To celebrate the UN’s “Women in Science” Day on February 11, 2026, the Faculty of Science at the University of Potsdam will host its annual Lunch Talks:

Women researchers in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science.

Professors from the Faculty of Science introduce themselves and their research areas.

In short, accessible talks, women professors from astrophysics, chemistry, mathematics, physics and environmental sciences will speak about

  • their personal paths into science,

  • their day-to-day research lives (including its highs and lows),

  • opportunities, doubts and challenges along the way.

We welcome everyone to come together for snacks, drinks and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. Let your colleagues and fellow students know, too!

We ask school groups to give us a brief advance notice by email (joerg.enders@uni-potsdam.de and elke.rosenberger@uni-potsdam.de). If there is interest, students can give school pupils a tour of the campus before or after the event.
