Publish

Open Access

The open access strategy of the state of Brandenburg has formulated the goal that all publications by members of publicly funded scientific institutions will appear in open access in the future if there are no legal, financial, technological or structural reasons to the contrary. A factsheet from the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences summarises the key aspects.

The University Library supports Open Access publishing for first and second publications and provides comprehensive advice on financial support for Open Access publications.

Unfortunately, the pricing structure of individual publishers for publications is very complex, regardless of whether they are open-access or not. Please contact Dr Jan Hagedoorn for further information.

Publishing agreements of the University of Potsdam
The University Library has concluded agreements (DEAL contracts and individual agreements) with various publishers in order to organise processes more efficiently and reduce the costs of publications by members of the University.

Open Access Publication Fund of the University of Potsdam
Financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the University of Potsdam, the fund is intended to enable university members to publish their scientific articles in Open Access journals. It is possible to finance publication fees of up to €2000.

publish.UP
On the publication server, members of the University of Potsdam can publish their scientific work free of charge and according to Open Access criteria.

open access network
Information about open access and a wide range of training and networking opportunities. The open access network also provides an overview of open access resources for mathematics.
