I will discuss how to incorporate Atiyah-Segal approach to locality in
quantum field theory – namely, the behaviour of the partition function
under the cutting and gluing – in the perturbative setting. This
relies on cutting formulae for (regularized) determinants and inverses
of differential operators. I will discuss the example of 2d scalar field
theory and challenges in the extension to higher dimensions.
