Graphon Models for Inhomogeneous Random Graphs

The Curie-Weiss model (CW) is a classical model of a ferromagnetic spin system in which all spins interact with each other. After giving an introduction on metastability, a phenomenon appearing in a large variety of systems presenting "sudden" transitions from apparently stable states, we will focus on the CW and its metastable behaviour.
The randomly dilute Curie-Weiss model (RDCW) is a generalisation of the CW in which the deterministic interaction between pairs of spins is replaced by iid random coefficients. The RDCW can be also viewed as an Ising model on a random graph. In the second part of the seminar recent results on the mean metastable hitting time in the RDCW, approximated by that of the CW, will be presented.
