The Euclidean contour rotation in quantum gravity

– Online Seminar and 2.09.2.22
Arbeitsgruppenseminar Analysis
John Barrett (Nottingham University)
The talk will discuss the rotation of the contour of functional integration in quantum gravity from Lorentzian geometries to Euclidean geometries. In the usual framework of metric tensors the functional integral does not have a good definition and so the formulas are necessarily heuristic. However it is hoped that these formulas will provide exact mathematical results when applied to theories that are constructed with a fundamental Planck scale cut-off.
For those of you who can and would like to join us, please meet us in the seminar Room 2.22 of the maths institute, where we can follow the talk together on screen.
You are welcome to invite your friends and colleagues to join us! If you wish to attend the talks, please contact Sylvie Paycha paycha@math.uni-potsdam.de for the login details.
Let me also take this opportunity to announce two talks by David Prinz (Potsdam) on Friday October 15th and October 22th, tentative title: Hopf Ideals for General Relativity
