Abstract: In the continuum, symmetrization inequalities are a fundamental tool in various parts of analysis: variational problems, spectral geometry, mathematical physics just to name a few. In this talk, I will talk about recent developments in the discrete analogues of these inequalities in the setting of graphs. In particular, I will discuss their connections with discrete vertex and edge isoperimetric inequalities. Apart from general theory, I will present some concrete result for standard graph on 2d integer lattices. Based on joint work with Stefan Steinerberger: arXiv:2212.0759.
