Bernhelm Booß-Bavnbeck (Roskilde): 1943-2023, Tribute and Review - 80 Years of Mathematical Modelling of Geosphere, Biosphere, and Anthroposphere
Abstract: I shall draw some lines from a romantic, but bloody love story during the Second World War to everyday life’s successes and disappointments with model based measurements, mathematical modelling, numerical predictions, and mathematics based design and prescriptions. My most recent examples will be taken from a 2-volumes collection of 29 cases of complex systems with inter-knotted processes of different characteristic time lengths, that I edited, supported by geophysicist Jens Hesselbjerg Christiansen, oceanographer Katherine Richardson, and economist Oriol Valles Codina, see https://link.springer.com/book/9783031280481.
